BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University Football hosts the University of Jamestown Jimmies for the first time since 1956 this Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. with a special BSU Alumni Hall of Fame recognition ceremony at halftime.
Fans are encouraged to wear pink this weekend as the Beavers celebrate Pink Out, teaming up with Bemidji State's Student Athlete Advisory Committee to spread awareness for breast cancer. Those in attendance are also encouraged to stay in the stadium at halftime as we recognize the 2025 Bemidji State Alumni Hall of Fame class.
Bemidji State Notes
- The Beavers enter the weekend at 2-5 overall and 2-4 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Prior to their bye-week break, the Beavers defeated Northern State University, 24-21, and Wayne State College, 26-21, to get into the win column for the first time this season.
- Next week, BSU heads to Moorhead, Minn. for the Battle Axe Rivalry against Minnesota State University Moorhead on Nov. 1 at 12 p.m. They'll then travel to Duluth, Minn. to take on No. 15/11 University of Minnesota Duluth on Nov. 8 at noon. All NSIC matchups are available for streaming on the NSIC Network and Beaver games are available on the Beaver Radio Network.
- The Beavers' quarterback room is a dominating force on offense for the team. Connor Carver leads the rushing game with 70 attempts and 550 yards with six rushing touchdowns. Carver averages 78.57 yards per game and 7.9 per carry. Bart McAninch leads through the air with 63 completions and 98 attempts. He has accumulated 730 passing yards and three touchdowns. McAninch averages 121.67 passing yards per game with a 128.80 quarterback rating.
- Drayton Lehman is the team's top receiver with 331 yards on 35 catches. He averages 9.46 yards per catch and 47.29 per game. Senior Jake Hill recently returned to the field after injury and in two games has grabbed eight catches for 188 yards, averaging 23.50 yards per catch and 94 per game.
- Defensively, Caden Bolte leads the charge with 47 total tackles, 33 solo and 14 assisted with 4.5 tackles for a loss, one interception, seven pass breakups (sitting at 27th in the NCAA with 1.14 per game), one hurry and one safety.
- Specialist Connor Mantelli is second on the team in points scored, grabbing 17 PAT kicks and going a perfect five-for-five on field goals, accumulating 32 points for the Green & White.
Jamestown Notes
- The Jimmies sit at the bottom of the North Division with two divisional losses this season. They are right behind the Beavers in the overall NSIC rankings, taking 12th, ahead of Southwest Minnesota State University and Concordia University, St. Paul. UJ holds an overall and NSIC record of 1-5 this season.
- UJ's solo win came on Sep. 27 at CSP, taking a 33-22 victory home from Sea Foam Stadium. Since then, they have fallen to the University of Mary, 44-22, and Minot State University, 35-28. Next week, the Jimmies head to Minnesota Duluth for a 1 p.m. matchup.
- Cole Hentges leads the Jimmies' rush game with 408 net yards on 80 carries with seven rushing touchdowns. The redshirt-sophomore quarterback averages 68 rushing yards per game with 5.1 per attempts.
- Hentges also leads through the air with a 109.56 quarterback rating, sitting at 68-122-3 this season. He has thrown for 696 yards and four touchdowns, averaging 116 yards per game.
- Hentges' top receivers are Erastus Antsino and Nate Burke with 267 and 221 receiving yards, respectively. Burke leads the team in receiving touchdowns at four.
- Linebackers Zach Mueller and Gunnar Stephens lead the Jimmies with 35 and 34 total tackles, respectively. Stephens leads the team in solo tackles with 23 and tackles for a loss, 3.0, while Mueller leads in assisted at 18.
- The Jimmies have yet to put a ball between the uprights on their field goal unit, going 0-2, but Aanon Peterson leads the way with 11 made PAT kicks. The Jimmie special teams unit has totaled 12 points this season.
