BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bemidji State University Men's Hockey team and Bowling Green State University played to a 4-4 draw Friday night at Slater Family Ice Arena in a tense matchup that saw both teams trading goals throughout regulation. Bemidji State prevailed in the shootout to earn the extra point in Central Collegiate Hockey Association standings extending its point streak to three.

Freshman defenseman
Max Vig contributed to the offensive effort scoring his first collegiate goal. Junior
Vincent Labelle added a goal and an assist, tallying two points and winning six faceoffs. Senior
Adam Flammang also posted a goal and an assist, finishing with six shots on goal in the contest. Freshman
Max Namestnikov also registered a goal and an assist, recording two points and a blocked shot.

The first period opened with Bowling Green winning the initial faceoff and maintaining early momentum. The home team struck first at 6:27 when Quinn Emerson scored, assisted by Breck McKinley and Dominik Rymon, putting the Falcons in the lead. Bemidji State responded at 8:51 as Vig netted an equalizer with assists from
Kasper Magnussen and
Adam Flammang. The period saw both teams exchange penalties, but neither side could capitalize on the power plays, leaving the score tied 1-1 at the intermission.

Bemidji State expanded their lead early in the second period with two quick goals. At 2:43,
Adam Flammang scored at even strength, assisted by
Oliver Peer and
Kasper Magnussen, bringing the score to 2-1. Less than two minutes later,
Max Namestnikov found the back of the net with an assist from
Vincent Labelle and
Mitch Wolfe, increasing Bemidji's lead to 3-1. Bowling Green responded at 10:36 with Jeremie Minville's goal, assisted by Brett Pfoh and Noah Morneau, closing the gap to 3-2. Bemidji State answered promptly at 13:44 with
Vincent Labelle's goal, assisted by
Kirklan Irey and
Max Namestnikov, concluding the period with a 4-2 lead.

Bowling Green rallied in the third period to secure a 4-4 draw against Bemidji State. Jackson Niedermayer initiated the comeback with an even-strength goal at 15:06, assisted by Quinn Emerson and Noah Morneau. Gustav Stjernberg then tied the game at 18:43, with assists from Dominik Rymon and Jaden Grant. Both teams traded shots throughout the period, but neither could break the deadlock before time expired.

In the overtime period between Bemidji State and Bowling Green, Bemidji State controlled the pace with multiple attempts on goal. The period began with a faceoff win by Bemidji State's
Reilly Funk. Despite sustained offensive pressure and shots from Funk,
Adam Flammang,
Connor McClennon, and
Kirklan Irey, the Falcons' goaltender, Tyler Palmer, made crucial saves to keep the game level. A late attempt by Bowling Green's Tyler Hotson went wide, and the period concluded scoreless, resulting in a draw.

In the shootout phase,
Adam Flammang of Bemidji State successfully scored against Bowling Green's goalie Tyler Palmer. This gave Bemidji State an early advantage. The Falcons' Dominik Rymon, Tyler Hotson, and Brody Waters all failed to convert their shootout attempts, with Bemidji State's goalie
Raythan Robbins stopping each try. The shootout concluded with Bemidji State prevailing, following a 4-4 tie after regulation and overtime play.

Robbins finshed with 23 saves in the game and moves to 2-1-1 on the season.

The Beavers are now  4-4-1 overall record and 2-0-1 in conference play earning at least two points in all three conference games to start the season. BGSU stands at 2-2-1 overall, matching Bemidji St.'s 2-0-1 record in conference competition with the two teams tied atop the league standings with seven points early on.
