ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The Bemidji State University Men's Hockey team defeated University of Alaska Anchorage 9-2 on Friday, tying a program record for the most goals in Bemidji State's Division I era. This impressive feat was achieved thanks to a dominant offensive performance, including a five-goal second period. The Beavers capitalized on the power play with one goal on two chances, while the Seawolves failed to convert on any of their four power-play opportunities. Bemidji State outshot their opponents 31-29, with the game's decisive stretch occurring in the second period, where BSU pulled away.

Senior
Adam Flammang led Bemidji State with a standout performance, registering one goal and three helpers, including the game-winning goal.
Connor McClennon added two goals, with one coming on the power play.
Kasper Magnussen contributed four helpers, becoming the first Beaver to do so since Kyle Bauman in 2017.
Raythan Robbins anchored the defense, making 27 saves while allowing two goals.

The first frame began with Bemidji State applying early pressure, as
Mitch Wolfe's initial attempts were blocked. Despite several missed shots, they broke through at 12:59 when
Patrik Satosaari scored the first goal, assisted by
Kirklan Irey and Magnussen. Both teams traded penalties, but neither capitalized on the power play. Robbins made key saves to keep the Seawolves scoreless, while Greg Orosz stood firm in goal for the hosts, despite the relentless Bemidji State offense. The period ended with Bemidji State holding a 1-0 lead.

Bemidji State extended its lead with a flurry of goals in the second frame against the Seawolves. McClennon opened the scoring with an even-strength goal at 14:36, assisted by
Jaksen Panzer and
Vincent Labelle. Less than a minute later, Flammang doubled the lead with a goal at 13:59, receiving assists from
Oliver Peer and
Max Namestnikov.
Reilly Funk added a third goal at 13:07, assisted by Magnussen and Irey, prompting a goalie change for the home team. McClennon struck again on the power play at 04:45, with assists from Flammang and Magnussen, to make it 5-0. The Seawolves managed to get on the board with a goal by Ethan Warrener at 1:40, but Bemidji State quickly answered with a goal from
Luke Roelofs at 01:26, assisted by Peer and Flammang, closing the period with a commanding 6-1 lead.

Bemidji State asserted their dominance in the third frame, extending their lead with three consecutive goals.
Alexi Sylvestre opened the scoring at 10:17 with assists from Magnussen and
Noah Quinn, making it 7-1. Funk added another at 10:57 with an unassisted effort, followed by
Jake McLean's goal at 11:16, assisted by Flammang and Namestnikov, pushing Bemidji State to a 9-1 lead. UAA managed to find the net with Oren Shtrom scoring at 12:27, assisted by Judah Makway, but the game ended with a decisive 9-2 victory for Bemidji State.

Bemidji State moves to 1-0-0 to start the season and look to garner the series sweep tomorrow night when game two is played at 8 p.m. CDT.
