BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Men's Hockey senior defenseman
Mitch Wolfe was named the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Defenseman of the Week for Nov. 7-8 after helping the Beavers to a series sweep and five points against Lake Superior State University this past weekend at Sanford Center.
Â
Wolfe scored the go-ahead goal with 7:37 to play in Saturday's 3-2 overtime victory over the Lakers to extend the Beavers' unbeaten streak to six games. The Andover, Minn., native was a force for the Beavers in the defensive zone limiting the Lakers' shot lanes and blocked three shots. He excelled on both ends of the ice holding a +2 rating and contributed four shots on goal offensively.
Â
Wolfe is joined by Michigan Tech's Stiven Sardarian (Forward) and Owen Bartoskiewicz (Goaltender) and Bowling Green's Noah Morneau (Rookie) as CCHA Players of the Week.
Â
The Beavers hit the road again this weekend for a premier CCHA matchup as the top two teams in the CCHA standings face-off in Houghton, Mich., as the Beavers take on the Huskies of Michigan Tech.
