HOUGHTON, Mich. — The Bemidji State University Men's Hockey fell to Michigan Technological University, 2–1, in overtime Saturday night in their Central Collegiate Hockey Association series finale. However, the Beavers extended their CCHA point streak to eight games earning a point in the CCHA standings and split the weekend with the Huskies.
Reilly Funk scored one goal on his single shot attempt.
Oliver Peer excelled in the faceoff circle, winning 13 faceoffs and maintaining a 76 percent success rate.
Max Namestnikov contributed with an assist and finished with a plus-minus of plus-one.
Max Hildebrand made 21 saves in goal while allowing two goals.
The first period began with Bemidji State winning the opening faceoff, setting the tone for a competitive frame. At 11:01, Funk scored the period's only goal for Bemidji State, assisted by Namestnikov and
Ryan Henderson, giving the visitors a 1–0 lead. Michigan Tech tried to respond with several attempts, but Hildebrand stood firm in goal. The period ended with both teams receiving roughing penalties, maintaining Bemidji State's narrow advantage.
In the second period, MTU equalized with a goal at 10:14 by Stiven Sardarian, assisted by Joe Prouty. Bemidji State struggled to capitalize on their chances, despite multiple attempts by

In the overtime period, MTU secured a 2-1 victory over Bemidji State. The decisive moment came at 3:25 when Max Koskipirtti netted the game-winning goal in sudden death, assisted by Carson Latimer and Tyler Miller. Bemidji State's Hildebrand made key saves early in the period, stopping consecutive attempts by Miller and Latimer. The game ended with MTU capitalizing on their overtime opportunity to claim the win.
Bemidji State holds a 7-5-2 overall record and is 5-1-2 in conference play. Michigan Tech stands at 8-3-1 overall and 5-0-1 in conference competition.
