BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference released the 2025 All-NSIC First and Second Team selections Wednesday afternoon. Nine Beavers, four on the first team and five on the second, found their names on the lineup.
First Team
#24 Caden Bolte
Senior | Defensive Back | Bemidji, Minn.
Caden Bolte led the Beaver defense during his final season in the Green & White. Amassing 65 total tackles with a team-high 47 solo and 18 assisted, Bolte was prominent in BSU's pass defense with one interception, eight pass breakups and one quarterback hurry. He also added a forced fumble and a recovery, as well as a safety at Wayne State College. He finished the season seventh in the NSIC and 82
nd in the NCAA for passes defended. Bolte also ranked in the top 50 nationally for solo tackles, taking 47
th with 4.70 per game.
#72 Isaac Hagstrom
Senior | Offensive Line | Annandale, Minn.
Isaac Hagstrom led the Beavers as a captain during his senior season. A prominent force on the Beavers' offensive line, Hagstrom helped to propel the Beavers to the No. 1 spot in the NSIC for tackles for loss allowed, averaging 3.73 per game and taking ninth in the NCAA. His blocking helped BSU to excel in third-down conversions (taking 67
th in the NCAA at 40 percent), taking 55
th in completion percentage, 44
th in rushing offense and 81
st in sacks allowed. With Hagstrom's help, multiple Beaver offensive players found themselves in the top 100 for statistics like completion percentage (
Bart McAninch, 11
th), passing efficiency, passing and rushing touchdowns, and rushing yards including
Connor Carver ranking seventh in rushing yards per carry.
#39 Connor Mantelli
Redshirt Senior | Special Teams | Castle Rock, Colo.
Connor Mantelli spent most of his senior season at the top of the leader boards for kickers and punters in NCAA Division II. Mantelli went five-for-seven this season on field goals, sitting at a perfect 100 percent through eight games. He amassed 42 punts for 1708 yards, averaging just over 40 yards per punt with a long of 59. Of those, 14 landed inside the 20 yard line and six were over 50 yards. On the kickoff unit, Mantelli marked 2321 yards on 41 attempts, averaging 56.6 yards per kick with just six touchbacks and three out of bounds. He finished his senior season at 101 in the NCAA for field goals per game and 28
th in punting, second in the conference.
#15 Tyler Sapit
Redshirt Sophomore | Defensive End | Batavia, Ill.
In his second full season with the Beavers, Sapit led all BSU defensive ends with 32 total tackles, posting 23 solo. He proved to be a problem for opposing teams' backfields, grabbing 6.5 tackles for a loss of 59 yards and sacking quarterbacks 5.5 times for 55 yards. At University of Minnesota Duluth, Sapit set the program record for tackle for loss yards in a single game, sacking UMD's quarterback for 26 yards and beating the previous record by a full four yards. He also forced his first fumble in his career in the same game.
Second Team
#64 Clayton Birdsall
Redshirt Junior | Center | Alexandria, Minn.
#69 Conor Kovas
Redshirt Senior | Offensive Line | Joliet, Ill.
This season marked Birdsall's first in a full-time starting spot for BSU, taking over the center position with big shoes to fill after the graduation of BSU's all-time best center
Jake Gannon last season. Kovas, on the other hand, isn't new to the spotlight, finishing his career with 36 starts. The pair was part of one of the top BSU offensive lines in school history, allowing just 41 tackles for a loss this season to claim ninth in the NCAA and first in the conference. The Beaver rushing offense averaged 179.8 rushing yards per game, taking 44
th in the NCAA and sixth in the NSIC.
#19 Connor Carver
Redshirt Sophomore | Running Back | Fort Dodge, Iowa
Carver began the season as the Beavers' top quarterback, rotating game-by-game with
Bart McAninch throughout the season. His efforts on the ground led Carver to be nominated and voted on by the NSIC as a running back. In just his second season playing for the Beavers, after redshirting during his true-freshman campaign, Carver led the ground attack with 97 rushes in nine games. He marked 812 yards gained and 725 net, averaging 7.5 per carry and 80.56 per game. Carver added a team-leading eight rushing touchdowns, on top of his five passing and one receiving, to lead the team in scoring. Carver found himself ranked at No. 7 in the NCAA for rushing yards per carry at the end of the season, on top of numerous top 50 and top 100 rankings.
#0 Jacob Drietz
Graduate | Linebacker | Baxter, Minn.
Playing just half the season due to injury, Drietz quickly made up for lost time by posting 14 solo and 13 assisted tackles in just six games. He also added a hurry against Jamestown University and a pass breakup against University of Mary. He finishes his BSU career with a 93 total tackles in 32 games with a tackle for a loss, two breakups, two forced fumbles and two blocked kicks.
#2 Jake Hill
Redshirt Senior | Wide Receiver | Osseo, Minn.
After sitting out last season due to injury and missing five games this season for a different injury, Hill returned to play for his first game since 2023 against Northern State University. In the second half of the season, spanning six games, Hill totaled six receiving touchdowns, 365 yards and 23 receptions. In half the time of previous seasons, he posted double his season high in touchdowns, previously set at three in 2022.
