BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University Women's Basketball travels to Duluth, Minn. Tuesday afternoon to open Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play against the University of Minnesota Duluth. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. and streaming is available via the NSIC Network and Beaver Radio Network.
Bemidji State Notes
- Bemidji State Women's Basketball enters the weekend at 2-0 overall after wins over Valley City State University and University of Minnesota Morris earlier this month. The Beavers took down the Vikings on their home court by a score of 81-68 before hosting the Cougars the following Monday and defeating them by 32 points, 85-53.
- Kassandra Caron leads the Beavers' offense in her first season in the Green And White. Averaging 17.0 points per game, Caron is shooting at .565 percent from the field with an average of 6.5 makes per game. She also leads the team from the free-throw line, shooting at .778 percent with seven makes on nine attempts.
- Sam Veto has claimed the top spot on the Beavers' roster for three-point shooting at .500 percent, making four threes on eight attempts.
- Sophomore Aubrey Heyer leads the team in rebounding, averaging eight per game with a 50/50 split of offensive and defensive boards, taking fourth in the NCAA for offensive rebounds per game with an average of four per contest.
- Following Tuesday's trip to Duluth, the Beavers head to Tampa, Fla. for the University of Tampa Thanksgiving Classic Nov. 28 and 29. The Beavers will take on the Florida Institute of Technology at 11 a.m. Friday and the University of Tampa at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Minnesota Duluth Notes
- The Bulldogs enter the week at an even 2-2 split after a trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan last week. The Bulldogs fell in their Thursday matchup at Michigan Technological University, 79-69, before heading to Marquette, Mich. Friday and taking down the Northern Michigan University Wildcats, 85-70.
- Claire Bjorge leads the UMD offense this season with 14.5 points per game, totaling 58 in four games. She is the team's leading shooter from the field, marking a .571 field-goal shooting percentage with 24 makes on 42 attempts and averaging 10.5 attempts per game. She has also taken the Bulldogs' top spot on steals, averaging 2.8 per game with 11 already this season.
- Under the rim, Lexi Karge leads the team with 18 rebounds this season, averaging 4.5 per game with an average of one on offense and 3.5 on defense.
- The Bulldogs will be off the remainder of this week before hosting the University of Minnesota Crookston on Dec. 3 to jump into the full swing of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play.
