BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University Women's Basketball heads to Tampa, Fla. for the University of Tampa Thanksgiving Classic Friday and Saturday. The Beavers take on Florida Institute of Technology Friday at 11 a.m. CST and University of Tampa 1 p.m. CST.
Bemidji State Notes
- The Beavers enter the weekend at 2-1 overall and have grabbed one loss earlier this week, opening Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference activity against University of Minnesota Duluth and falling 74-63.
- Kassandra Caron leads the Beavers in scoring this season, posting an average of 19.3 per game with a shooting percentage of .476 from the field and .889 at the free throw line. After Tuesday's game at UMD, she took the lead in blocks with 0.7 per game, steals at 1.7 per game.
- Tieryn Plasch leads the team in shooting from the three-point line, hitting .294 percent from the arc with five makes on 17 attempts. Sam Veto follows close behind at .500 with four makes.
- Aubrey Heyer leads under the rim, grabbing 9.3 rebounds per game and averaging a whopping 3.3 on offense. She holds fourth in the conference for offensive rebounds per game and is just shy of the top 100 in the NCAA.
- Following this weekend, the Beavers return home to get into the full swing of NSIC play with hosting Minnesota State University Moorhead Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m.
Florida Tech Notes
- Florida Tech is 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the Sunshine State Conference, splitting last week's efforts at Palm Beach Atlantic University and Flagler College. Following Friday's matchup, the Panthers take on Davis & Elkins College at noon eastern time Saturday.
- Nandinkhusel Nyamjav leads the offense with 16.5 points per game, shooting .500 from the field and .778 from the free-throw line.
Tampa Notes
- The Spartans are 2-4 overall with a 0-1 record in the SSC. Most recently, the Spartans fell to No. 12 Nova Southeastern University, 67-49, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. on Nov. 22.
- Ryan Franklin leads the offense, averaging 13.67 points per game with a .493 FG percentage.
