BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University heads on the road Thursday and Saturday to take on Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference North Division opponents University of Jamestown and Northern State University. Thursday's matchup in Jamestown, N.D. is set to tipoff at 7:30 p.m. while Saturday in Aberdeen, S.D. is slated for 6 p.m.
Bemidji State Notes
- The Beavers enter the weekend with their best start to the season since the 2020-2021 season, sitting at 5-2 overall. BSU is on a two-game winning streak after sweeping Minnesota State University Moorhead and University of Minnesota Crookston last week. The Beavers' win over UMC marked the first overtime game of the season, taking an 86-76 win after blanking the Golden Eagles during the overtime period.
- Kassandra Caron leads the Beavers with 125 points in seven games, averaging 17.9 points per game. She is shooting at .464 percent from the field, averaging 5.6 makes per game, .333 percent from the arc and .808 percent from the free-throw line.
- Aubrey Heyer leads the Beavers under the rim, averaging 7.7 boards per game with 2.7 on offense and 5.0 on defense. She has totaled 54 this season. Heyer also leads the team in blocks with six, averaging 0.9 per game.
- Following this weekend's road trip, the Beavers return home for five games at the BSU Gymnasium. This home series begins Thursday, December 18 with the University of Mary at 7:30 p.m. and December 20 against Minot State University at 3:30 p.m. The team then goes on a small break for the holidays before returning to the gym Jan. 3 against University of Minnesota Duluth.
Jamestown Notes
- The Jimmies hold an overall win percentage of .571 with a 4-3 record this season. They hold the fourth spot, just below Bemidji State, in the NSIC's North Division. Most recently, the Jimmies defeated the Marauders 60-58 in Jamestown. Following Thursday's game, the Jimmies host the UMD Bulldogs Saturday afternoon.
- Allie Berns leads UJ in scoring this season, posting 112 total points and shooting at .580 percent from the field. She also leads the team in blocks with an average of 1.4 per game.
Northern State Notes
- The Wolves follow the Jimmies in NSIC North Rankings with a 1-2 record in the conference and 5-3 overall. They come off a split weekend against UMary and Minot State last weekend, falling 81-63 to UMary and defeating MSU 68-62.
- Izzy Moore leads the Wolves offensively, grabbing 18.6 points per game, shooting .538 percent from the field, .400 from the arc and .730 from the free-throw line. Moore also leads in rebounds with 6.5 per game and steals with 2.0 per game.
