Beavers close road season at AU and WSC

Women’s Basketball travels to Sioux Falls and Wayne for last road games of the regular season

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Women's Basketball travels to Sioux Falls, S.D. and Wayne, Neb. Friday and Saturday to take on Augustana University and Wayne State College, respectively. Both games are available on the Beaver Radio Network and NSIC Network for listening and streaming.

Bemidji State Notes
  • Bemidji State enters its final road weekend at 5-17 overall with a 3-15 record in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Earlier this season, the Beavers defeated the Vikings, 63-50, and fell to the Wildcats in a double-overtime matchup with a final score of 71-64 in favor of Wayne State.
  • Though the Beavers' chances of making the NSIC tournament are slim, the team has a few potential ways to make it in, relying primarily on winning at least two of these last four games and other teams in the conference losing multiple games, including those against BSU.
  • The Beavers are led in scoring, shooting and assists by Tieryn Plasch. She has marked 10.2 points per game this season with a .429 field-goal shooting percentage and .408 from the three-point arc. Leading by just one assist, Plasch averages 2.6 assists per game.
  • Aubrey Heyer remains at the top of the Beavers' rebounding game, marking an average of 5.4 per game. Erin Barrette has proven to be a defensive threat to opponents, marking an average of 2.0 steals per game.
  • Following this weekend, the Beavers close the regular season at home with Pink Out Night and a canned food drive on Feb. 21 and Senior Day on Feb. 22.

Augustana Notes
  • Augustana University holds the 14th spot in the conference at 6-19 overall and 4-15 in the NSIC. After falling to BSU earlier this season, there is potential for the Beavers to overtake the Vikings once again and move closer to12th place in the conference, which would grab the Beavers a playoff berth.
  • Augie will host St. Cloud State University Saturday afternoon then close its season at Minot State University on Feb. 20.

Wayne State Notes
  • The Wildcats currently hold the 11th spot in the NSIC Women's Basketball standings with a conference record of 7-12, 10-13 overall.
  • Wayne State will host St. Cloud State Friday then finish their home stretch against Bemidji State Saturday. They'll finish the regular season with a trip to Minot State on Feb. 22 against the Minot State Beavers.

Up next for Bemidji State is a matchup against Augustana University on February 14, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. in Sioux Falls, S.D.
