BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Men's Basketball is set to close out the 2024-25 regular season with No. 24 Concordia University, St. Paul and University of Minnesota Duluth Friday and Saturday. The Beavers will celebrate Pink Out Night and host a food drive for Bucky's Pantry Friday with a 5:30 p.m. tipoff followed by a Senior Day celebration prior to the team's 3:30 p.m. tipoff Saturday.
Bemidji State Notes
- The Beavers close out the regular season with Pink Out Night and a food drive for Bucky's Pantry on Friday, followed by a celebration of the senior class Saturday.
- BSU enters the weekend 10-16 overall with a 7-13 record in conference play. The team has clinched a spot in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference playoffs.
- With two games left on the schedule, BSU has the potential to move up to the No. 11 spot in the conference with two wins paired an Augustana University loss on Thursday in Minot, N.D. Should the Beavers stay in their current rank, they will play the No. 5 spot, currently held by St. Cloud State University. Similarly to the bottom of the conference, the top teams have the ability to move around as well with St. Cloud State sitting at 14-6 overall with four other programs and University of Minnesota Duluth and Minnesota State University Moorhead in sixth and seventh at a conference record of 13-7.
- The first round of the NSIC tournament is held on campus sites Feb. 26. The game will be available for listening on the Beaver Radio Network and streaming on the NSIC Network. Quarterfinals, semis and the championship are all held at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D. from Mar. 1 until Mar 4, with quarterfinals taking the first two days.
- Last year, the Beavers took on the University of Sioux Falls in the first round of playoffs and ended their season with a 68-66 loss in Sioux Falls, S.D.
No. 24 Concordia-St. Paul Notes
- Sitting in the No. 1 spot in the NSIC and No. 24 spot in this week's NABC Coaches' Poll is Concordia University, St. Paul is 19-7 overall with a 14-6 record in the conference. The team is almost guaranteed a first-round bye for the NSIC tournament but could fall to first round competition play territory with losses this weekend. Following Friday's game, they'll play in Crookston, Minn. to close the regular season.
- Earlier this season, the Beavers fell by just two points to the Golden Bears on Jan. 18. At that time, the Golden Bears were receiving votes in the NABC poll.
Minnesota Duluth Notes
- Minnesota Duluth holds the sixth spot in the NSIC with an overall record of 18-8 and conference record of 13-7. They'll take on the University of Minnesota Crookston on Friday evening, then close the regular season with the Beavers.
- In mid-January, the Beavers travelled to Duluth where they started their weekend with a 75-59 loss to the Bulldogs at Romano Gymnasium.
