BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Men's Basketball travels to Aberdeen, S.D. Saturday afternoon to take on the Northern State University Wolves. The game is available for streaming on the Beaver Radio Network and NSIC Network.
Bemidji State Notes
- Bemidji State enters the weekend at 9-14 overall with a 6-11 record in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The team has won the last two games against University of Mary and University of Minnesota Crookston.
- The Beavers are led in scoring by Tate Olson who averages 11.8 points per game with a total of 272 this season. He's marking the highest rebounding and assist efforts with 9.0 rebounds per game and 3.0 assists per game. Olson is shooting at .500 from the field with 106 makes on 212 attempts this season.
- Beyond the arc, John Pecarich leads the program with a .442 shooting percentage and 46 makes off of 104 attempts. Pecarich averages 2.0 per game with 4.5 attempts per game.
- Earlier this season, the Beavers defeated the Wolves in Bemidji by a slim margin of two points. The Beavers were trailing by four after the first half but bounced back with 44 points against the Wolves 38 in the second to claim the victory. Jalen Patterson led the team with 20 points, followed by Malang Athian's 17. Patterson and Olson led the team in rebounds with six each, along with Olson leading with four assists.
- Following this weekend, the Beavers head on the road to Augustana University and Wayne State College next week before returning to Bemidji Feb. 21 and 22 to close out the regular season with Concordia University, St. Paul and University of Minnesota Duluth.
Northern State Notes
- The Wolves sit in last place in the NSIC with a 1-16 conference record, holding a 2-21 mark overall. They recently broke an 18-game losing streak with a 62-59 victory over University of Minnesota Crookston on Thursday evening.
- James Glenn moved to the top spot in scoring for the Wolves with 288 points and an average of 12.5 per game. He's the team's top three-point shooter with a shooting percentage of .352 on 51 makes with 145 attempts.
- Kaleb Mitchell has the most rebound grabs for NSU, tallying 5.4 per game with a season total of 125. A presence in the paint, Mitchell also averages 1.2 blocks per game with a total of 28 this season.
- Following this weekend, the Wolves head to Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota Duluth next week before closing the regular season at home against University of Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State University.
