GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The Bemidji State University Women's Tennis team season came to an end over the weekend after the Beavers fell to Minnesota State University, Moorhead and University of Mary Friday-Saturday at Choice Health and Fitness Center in Grand Forks, N.D.

The Beavers fell 7-0 in both matches against the Dragons and Marauders to end their season with a 7-9 record overall and 3-6 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play. The Beavers' seven wins on the season and three in conference play were the most since the 2022 season.

Bemidji State faced tough competition over the weekend and its lone victory came at No. 1 doubles against MSU-Moorhead where
Sophie Groen and
Mia Leshem teamed up to defeat Shaelyn Johnson and Luzmary Diaz, 6-3.

The Beavers showed signs of growth this season with three student-athletes earning winning percentages above .500 in
Sophie Groen (.571),
Mia Leshem (.615) and
Lauren Rutten (.563). Eight of 10 Beavers on the roster are underclassmen signaling a positive future for head coach
Kyle Fodness' program.
