BEMIDJI, Minn. – Led by members of its 2025 senior class, the Bemidji State University Baseball team rallied for a 9-7 victory over St. Cloud State University Saturday afternoon in their Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference series finale at BSU Baseball Field.
The Beavers earned their first win over the Huskies since 2018 snapping a 20-game losing streak on a day that they honored their seven seniors for senior day. A pair of senior pitchers led the Beavers to victory after senior
Brandon Lind pitched 7.1 innings earning the win on the mound while senior relief pitcher
Ty Schulte pitched the final 1.1 innings to earn his first collegiate save.
The Beavers ended their season on a high note finishing 2025 with a 7-40 record overall and 6-34 in NSIC action. The Beavers' seven wins and six in conference play were the most since the 2021 season.
Lind was dominant on the mound going the 7 and one third innings allowing just three runs off seven hits and tied a career-high with 10 strikeouts while only allowing one walk. He also earned the 100
th strikeout of his career becoming just the 13
th pitcher to reach the milestone in program history.
The Beavers' backed up Lind's performance at the plate by recording nine hits and reached base 19 times after drawing five walks and were hit by pitch five more times. Bemidji State was led by
Beau Thoma,
Ben Corradi,
Jack Feldman and
Noah Drusch who each reached base three times including multiple hit performances from Feldman and Drusch. Corradi, Thoma and Matt Fillippi each drove in a team-high two runs with Corradi standing out after hitting his first career home run with a two-run blast over the right field wall to tie the game in the fourth inning.
BSU took its first lead in the sixth inning scoring four runs in the inning with RBIs from Drusch, M. Filippi and
Nick Ekstrum. The Beavers extended their lead to 9-2 in the seventh in RBIs from Thoma (2) and M. Filippi once again. However, the Huskies stormed back with extra-base run scoring hits in the eighth to bring the Beavers lead down to two but Schulte delivered in relief getting the final four outs without allowing a baserunner to collect the save and Beaver win.
The win was just what the Beavers' needed after falling in two close games to the Huskies in heart-break fashion in their doubleheader the previous day. BSU fell by just one run, 6-7, in game one of the series while falling in 10 innings 7-10 in game two after surrendering a four-run lead in the ninth inning.
Feldman paced the Beavers in the series collecting five hits in 11 at bats for a .455 batting average while also drawing two walks for a .538 on-base percentage. He was followed by
Hudson Filippi who went 4-for-9 (.444) with four singles, was hit by pitch twice, drove in two runs and had one sacrifice. The Beavers batted .308 as a team in the series with seven Beavers totaling a batting average of .300.
Lind highlighted the Beavers' starting pitchers Saturday afternoon but
Liam McGrath provided a quality start in a no-decision effort Friday. He pitched 4.1 innings allowing one unearned run off of just three hits. Brett Inman led the Beavers' bullpen making two appearances and pitched 4.1 innings. He was dominant allowing just one hit and no runs while holding opposing batters to just a .071 batting average.
The Beavers' 2025 season comes to a close ending the collegiate careers of

Zach Evenson,
Derek Hoffman,
Brandon Lind,
Sawyer Nendick,
Ty Schulte and
Max Grundhofer.
