MANKATO, Minn.– Bemidji State University Track and Field team competed in a pair of open meets Friday and Saturday, taking part in the Maverick Open in Mankato, Minn. and the Cobber Open in Moorhead, Minn.
The Maverick Open saw the Beaver throwers and one multi-event athlete compete. Mille Rosaeg ran the 100-meter hurdle prelims, qualifying for finals in 7
th with a 15.33 time, but did not race the finals. She also competed in the long jump where she took 12
th with a height of 5.14 meters and the javelin throw at 27.05 meters.
Mikenna Pattrin and
Trista Bilden took fourth and fifth in the javelin throw with distances of 36.92 meters and 35.93 meters, respectively.
Zayda Priebe competed in the discus throw championship, taking eighth at 41.87 meters.
At the Cobber Open Saturday, BSU had three student-athletes qualify during the 100-meter dash preliminaries,
Makenna Frazier at 13.16 seconds,
Jayden Wodarz at 13.63 seconds and
Hailey Selly at 14.22 seconds.
Gabrielle Wilson found a top-five spot with a 19.64 second finish in fourth during the 100-meter hurdles. Mille Rosaeg took first in the 200-meter dash at 26.08 seconds. In the 1500-meter run, all three competing Beavers,
Maggie McCarthy,
Sophie Rylance and
Sydnie Price, set personal bests. Selly also set her personal best in 1:14.23 during the 400-meter hurdles.
On the field side of the Cobber Open,
Zayda Priebe found the top of the podium in the discus throw with a 44.53-meter throw.
Elle Bettcher also found her name in the top five, taking fourth at 36.28 meters.
Mikenna Pattrin marked a personal best in the hammer throw, along with an event win, at a distance of 46.88 meters.
Zoe Lennon also found her best at 34.18 meters. Rounding out the day,
Chloe Knott took second in the pole vault with a personal best vault of 3.08 meters (10-01.25). Pattrin found her second event win of the day with a 12.88 meter shot put throw. Following closely behind,
Trista Bilden set her personal best of 12.38 in third place.
