BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Women's Hockey team will open its season earlier than expected after head coach
Amber Fryklund announced the Beavers will face University of Minnesota for an exhibition Saturday, Sept. 20. The Beavers and Gophers face-off for the exhibition match-up hosted at the Brainerd Essential Health Sports Center in Brainerd, Minn.
Game time is slated for 3 p.m, between the Beavers and Gophers.
Bemidji State will then officially begin the 2025-26 season the following weekend when it hosts University of Wisconsin Sept. 26-27 at Sanford Center.

Located on the shore of Lake Bemidji, Bemidji State University sponsors 15 varsity athletic programs with NCAA Division I men's and women's hockey membership in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association and Western Collegiate Hockey Association, while its 13 NCAA Division II programs hold membership in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
