BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University Women's Basketball gets back on the road for the first time since early December, taking a trip to St. Cloud, Minn. and Mankato, Minn. Friday and Saturday. Tipoff against St. Cloud State University is slated for 7:30 p.m. Friday with the Beavers heading to No. 2 Minnesota State University, Mankato at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
Bemidji State Notes
- The Beavers hold fifth in the NSIC North Division and 10th overall with a conference record of 4-6 and overall of 7-7. After a five-game losing skid, the Beavers were able to get back into the win column last Saturday, taking down the University of Sioux Falls, 76-70, in Bemidji. Prior to this win, BSU had not won since December 11, 2025.
- Following this weekend, BSU returns home to host the annual Slam Dunk Don't Drive Drunk game, this year against Concordia University, St. Paul on Jan. 23 and Beaver Radio Network Kids Club Game against Winona State University on Jan. 24.
- Senior forward Kassandra Caron leads the way for BSU, averaging 18.7 points per game with a season total of 262. She is shooting at .486 from the field and .772 from the free-throw line.
- Aubrey Heyer leads under the rim with an average of 7.0 rebounds per game, grabbing 2.1 on offense and 4.9 on defense. Heyer is eighth in the conference for rebounds per game and 12th in defensive boards per game.
- The Beavers lead the NSIC and take 8th in the NCAA for free-throw percentage, marking a team average of .802.
St. Cloud State Notes
- The Huskies enter the weekend falling in four of their last five matchups over the winter break. Sitting at 5-10 overall and 2-8 in the conference, they took down Minot State University on Jan. 9 by a score of 80-71 before falling to the University of Mary the following day.
- Similar to the previous season, Jada Eggebrecht remains the top scorer for SCSU with an average of 13.5 points per game. She is shooting at .416 from the field and .344 from the arc. Kristi Kottke leads from under the rim with 6.1 boards per game.
No. 2 Minnesota State Notes
- Minnesota State leads the NSIC and takes second in the NCAA behind Grand Valley State University with a 16-0 record. Of the 16 wins, 10 have come from conference opponents. MSU takes on the University of Minnesota Duluth Friday.
- Averaging 96.8 team points per game, the Mavericks are led in scoring by Natalie Bremer with 21.8 per game. She is shooting at .523 from the field and .442 from the arc. Under the basket, Ava Stier marks around 5.6 rebounds per game with 89 total this season.
