BEMIDJI, Minn. — Madisen Fritel scored twice, Megan Ko added a goal and Ana Steadman stopped all five shots she faced as the Bemidji State University Women's Soccer team defeated Minnesota State University, Moorhead 3-0 Sunday afternoon at Chet Anderson Stadium.

The Beavers improved to 6-3-4 overall and 5-2-3 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play with the victory. MSU Moorhead fell to 3-8-2 overall and 2-7-1 in conference action.

After entering as a substitute in the 18th minute, Fritel needed just over three minutes to put Bemidji State ahead. Dayna Stocke set up Fritel for the match's opening goal at 21:04, giving the Beavers a 1-0 advantage that they carried into halftime.

Bemidji State quickly added to its lead after the break. Sydney Sutherland assisted Ko for the defender's goal at 49:54, pushing the Beavers' advantage to 2-0 less than five minutes into the second half.

Fritel then completed her two-goal performance in the 75th minute. Her unassisted strike at 74:52 extended the lead to 3-0 and secured Bemidji State's sixth victory of the season. Fritel finished the match with a team-high four shots, placing three on goal, and accounted for four points.

Steadman preserved the shutout by making three saves in the opening half and two more after halftime. She played all 90 minutes in goal to secure her clean sheet, while the Bemidji State defense prevented MSU Moorhead from producing a corner kick during the second half.

Ko totaled three shots and joined Fritel as the Beavers' goal scorers. Meredith Paar placed both of her attempts on target, while Madeline Davey also recorded a shot on goal. Sutherland and Stocke each finished with an assist.
