BEMIDJI, Minn. – After a thrilling season-opening victory against St. Cloud State University, the Bemidji State University Men's Hockey team faces its second National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) opponent this weekend with a home-and-home series against No. 4 University of North Dakota. The Beavers host the Fighting Hawks Friday, October 9, at 7:07 p.m. at Sanford Center before traveling to Grand Forks for Saturday's 6:07 p.m. series finale at Ralph Engelstad Arena.

Bemidji State enters the series 1-0-0 after opening the 2026-27 season with a 3-2 overtime victory over St. Cloud State Saturday night at Sanford Center. North Dakota will play its first official games of the regular season after earning convincing exhibition victories over Augustana University and University of Manitoba.

The Series
Friday's series opener will be the 54th all-time meeting between Bemidji State and North Dakota win UND holding a 39-6-8 advantage in the all-time series. North Dakota swept last season's home-and-home series, taking a 5-3 victory at Sanford Center before earning a 2-1 overtime win the following night in Grand Forks. The Beavers' most recent victory in the series came Nov. 29, 2024, when they earned a 2-1 victory at Sanford Center. Bemidji State followed with a 3-3 overtime tie in Grand Forks the next night. Eight of the last 12 meetings between the regional rivals have been decided by one goal or ended in a tie. Four of those matchups required overtime.
