Track & Field prepares for three-meet weekend

Beavers travel to Iowa and Wisconsin for full lineup of meets Friday and Saturday

BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University Track and Field heads on the road to Iowa and Wisconsin this weekend, traveling to Des Moines, Iowa for the Grand View Viking Classic and Drake Relays and to Superior, Wis. for the Dan Conway Classic. 
 
On Friday, action begins with the majority of Beavers competing in the Grand View Viking Classic. Events kick off with hammer throw and javelin at 10 a.m., discus and shot put following both. Jumps are set to start at 11 a.m. with long jump and high jump, followed by triple jump and pole vault. On the track, events start at 11 a.m. with the 5,000-meter race walk. The 10k follows at noon before the full lineup begins at 1 p.m.
 
Also happening Friday are two events at the Drake Relays with senior thrower Zayda Priebe competing in discus around 11 a.m. and the 4x400m relay team taking to the track at 3:12 p.m. The following day, the Beaver distance medley relay team will take on the Drake relays around 9 a.m.
 
Rounding out the weekend, three athletes will compete in the Dan Conway Classic, hosted by University of Wisconsin-Superior, in Superior, Wis. The meet is set to start with field events around 11:30 a.m. with track events scheduled for a 1:30 p.m. start.
