BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Central Collegiate Hockey Association announced its 2026-27 Preseason Coaches' Poll and awards Monday morning and the Bemidji State University Men's Hockey team was voted to finish fifth by league head coaches. Senior forward Oliver Peer was voted as the league's Preseason Player of the Year and a member of the Preseason All-CCHA Team.
 
Bemidji State garnered 46 points in the poll while Michigan Technological University was named the preseason favorite after earning 65 points and four first-place votes. Bowling Green State University was voted second (62) and garnered two first-place votes while Minnesota State University, Mankato (59 – two first-place votes), and Augustana University (57) came in third and fourth.
