BEMIDJI, Minn. — The Bemidji State University Women's Soccer team (2-1-2, 1-0-1 NSIC) looks to carry momentum after earning its first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference win last Sunday into home matches against Wayne State College and Augustana University this weekend at Chet Anderson Stadium.
 
The Beavers begin the weekend's action by hosting the Wildcats (2-3-0, 1-1-0 NSIC) Friday, September 18 at 3:00 p.m. Bemidji State then returns to Chet Anderson Stadium Sunday to host the Vikings (4-0-1, 2-0-0 NSIC) at 1:00 p.m.
 
Each match will be streamed exclusively on Midco Sports Plus with live stats available at this link. A radio broadcast will also be available for Sunday's match located at 94.3 FM or online at www.beaverradionetwork.com.
 
The Beavers look to build off a solid NSIC opening weekend on the road at University of Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State University. They began NSIC play with a 0-0 draw against the Cougars after lightning and rain had delayed the start of the match until 9:30 p.m. Bemidji State responded Sunday by scoring a season-high three goals in a 3-0 shutout over the Mustangs.
 
Senior Megan Ko led the Beavers in the match scoring a goal and adding an assist for the first three-point match of her collegiate career. Sophomore Gracie Waters and freshman Meredith Paar scored the other tallies for the Beavers, with both players recording their first collegiate goals.
 
The Beavers posted back-to-back clean sheets over the weekend with a pair of goalkeepers earning their first collegiate shutouts. Sophomore Payton Kropp began the weekend in goal making one save on five shots seen from the Cougars to collect her first collegiate clean sheet. Freshman Emma Marzean then earned her first shutout in her first collegiate start making three saves on six shots.
 
On the season, Bemidji State ranks ninth in the NSIC scoring 1.20 goals per game but its defense has been dominant ranking third with a .600 goals against average and second with an .889 team save percentage. Its three shutouts through the first five matches of the season are tied for the second most in the NSIC.
 
The Beavers have had a different goal scorer on all six of their goals so far this season with Ko, Maggie Kramer, Ella Wade, Madeline Davey, Paar and Waters each scoring. Ko, Kramer and Wade each lead the team in points with three while seven Beavers have recorded a point. Madisen Fritel paces the team and is tied for eighth in the conference with seven shots on net but has yet to find the scoresheet this season.
 
Junior Rozlyn Buettner leads BSU goalkeepers making three starts in five matches. She is 1-1-1 with a 1.00 goals against average and .870 save percentage ranking seventh and fourth in the conference, respectively. She is second in the NSIC averaging 6.67 saves per game.
 
Bemidji State is 15-10-4 all-time against Wayne State College but are 1-2-2 over their last five matches and currently on a four-match losing streak to the Wildcats. The Wildcats are coming off a 1-1-0 NSIC opening weekend after falling 1-0 to Minnesota State University, Moorhead but defeated University of Minnesota Crookston 2-0, both in Wayne, Neb.
 
The Beavers are 11-7-7 all-time against Augustana and are 2-0-3 over their last five matches. The Vikings are one of three teams remaining who are undefeated in the NSIC and are coming off a two-win conference opening weekend against Minnesota Crookston and MSU-Moorhead.
