BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University Football junior quarterback Connor Carver has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts against Minot State University on Homecoming.
 
On Saturday, Carver set the Bemidji State program record for rushing yards in a single game with 335. He broke a record previously set at 319 in 1987 by running back and BSU Hall of Fame member John Gronski, who was in attendance to see history being written. Carver also scored four of the Beavers' five touchdowns, just one shy of tying the program's single-game rushing touchdown record. 
 
Carver marked the Beavers' first individual 300+-yard rushing game since 2019 when Jalen Frye grabbed 316 yards against Minot State on November 16, 2019. This game also marked the first since 2013 that a single student-athlete ran for four or more touchdowns, last achieved by Avery Walker at Minot State on November 16, 2013. 
 
Joining Carver in this week's Player of the Week lineup were University of Sioux Falls safety Beau Giblin as the Defensive Player of the Week and Winona State University kicker Mathias Yaggie on the Special Teams side.
