Totaled 11 penalties for 22 penalty minutes... Was a -44 rating on the ice.

2021-22 (Fr)
Played in all 34 games for the Beavers during her freshman campaign... Totaled nine assists for nine points with a final rating of -16... Put 43 shots on net... Set a career high in points (1, 7x), assists (1, 7x), and shots (4 at Lindenwood, Nov. 26, 2021)... Earned a career-high rating of three versus St. Thomas on January 29, 2022.

South St. Paul HS: Makenna is a five-time letter-winner for South St. Paul High School’s girls hockey program, five-time letter-winner for its girls soccer program and letter-winner for its track and field program… Named to the Class 1A All-State Team in 2019-20 after leading the Packers’ blueline with 33 points off of 11 goals and 22 assists… Helped the Packers to a 17-7-1 record in 2019-20 and appearance in the Minnesota State Tournament… Also named the Class 1A All-State Team in 2018-19 and is a three-time All-Metro East selection and has posted 124 career points off of 30 goals and 94 assists… Deering is also a All-State soccer player for the South St. Paul girls soccer program and three-time All-Metro East selection… Member of the National Honor Society and selected to the school’s Honor Roll.

Personal: Daughter of Sean and Laura Deering… Born on January 8, 2003… Majoring in Physical Education and Health Education while attending Bemidji State… Aunt, Tamara Newton, played on Bemidji State’s inaugural women’s hockey team as well as the Bemidji State Soccer team.
