Hit .145 on the season with 285 kills, 166 errors and 822 total attacks... First on the team with 235 digs, 2.33 d/s... Recorded 25 total blocks, nine solo and 16 assisted... Tallied eight assists and 27 service aces, most on the team... Set a career high of 18 kills at Mary on Oct., 29... Recorded a new career high of five block (2s,3a) vs Sioux Falls.

Appeared in 28 sets and 13 matches during the 2021 season... Totaled 47 kills and finished second on the team with a 1.68 k/s average... Hit .057 with 47 kills, 38 errors and 159 attacks... Totaled seven blocks and five digs... Hit a career-high 15 kills versus Missouri S&T, Sept. 10.

High School
Mertz is a two-year letter-winner for the Tigers’ volleyball program and one-year letter-winner for the girls basketball program… Helped the Tigers to a 14-10 record her senior season by leading the team in kills with 262 and a 3.10 kills per set average… Named an Under Armour All-America Volleyball Athlete… Twice selected to the Ultra Athlete watch list… Member of the National Honor Society and a honor roll student for the Tigers.

Daughter of Rob and Amy Mertz… Born on August 16, 2001… Majoring in Biology with a medical emphasis and minoring in Psychology and Chemistry while attending Bemidji State… Enjoys reading, hanging out with friends and hiking when not on the volleyball court.
