Prior to BSU: Lettered in baseball, football and wrestling for the Paynesville High School Bulldogs… Pitched 20 innings his senior season with a record of 1-2, an ERA of 2.10, 16 strikeouts and only seven walks… Did not hit a batter his senior season… Went to the state tournament in baseball, football and wrestling.

Personal: Son of Barbara and Patrick Welle… Born Sept. 27, 1993… Proposed major in biology… Uncle, Pete Schwieters, played football at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
