Prior to BSU: A three-sport athlete at Morris Community High School… Led the team in receptions (39) and reception yards (496) as senior, en route to First Team All-Northern Illinois Big 12 and all-area recognition… Helped guide the Redskins to a state appearance his senior year, where they placed second… Totaled four touchdown receptions and 12.7 yards per reception… On the defensive side of the ball, Monson recorded 31 tackles (11 solo), 4.5 sacks (team-leader) and force and recovered a fumble… Named all-conference first team, all-area for Morris and was a special mention for Joliet area as a junior… Earned two football letters, two track letters and one letter on the basketball squad.
