Prior to BSU: A three-time captain for the Chilton High School football team… Played both sides of the ball and excelled as the team’s top rusher… Compiled 1,366 yards and 17 touchdowns on 174 attempts in 2012 to earn Olympian-Packerland-Large Player of the Year honors and guide the Tigers to a 7-1 conference record and a share of the league title… Averaged 151.8 yards per game and 7.9 yards per carry… A two-time state qualifier in wrestling, Hephner was a state runner-up at 182 pounds as a junior and owns single-season school records for wins, pins and team points… Earned four letters in wrestling and is a two-time captain for the squad… A four-sport athlete, he has earned letters in wrestling, football (three), track (one) and baseball (1)… Also excels in the classroom as an honor roll student and has earned an academic letter.
