Biography

2010 (Jr): Started all 11 games at safety... Finished third on the team in tackles with 72 (32 solo)... Was named Second-Team Daktronics, Inc. Super Region #3 and Second-Team All-NSIC for his efforts in the field... In the classroom he earned a spot on the ESPN the Magazine / CoSIDA College Division Academic All-District Second Team and was a 2010 Fall Academic All-NSIC Team member.... Second on the team in pass break-ups with five... Added three tackles for loss, forcing the opposing offense back seven yards and came up with one fumble recovery.
    Had at least five tackles in nine games... Posted 10 tackles (seven solo) and broke up one pass at Concordia-St. Paul (Oct. 9)... Had nine tackles (three solo) in the next game at MSU Moorhead (Oct. 16), including 1.5 tackles for loss (-3 yards)... Also had nine tackles (two solo) at St. Cloud State (Nov. 6)... Totaled seven tackles (four solo), including 1.5 for loss (-4 yards) at Southwest Minnesota State (Sept. 18)... Recorded two pass break-ups and three tackles versus Minnesota, Crookston (Nov. 13)... Recovered a fumble and had eight tackles (five solo) against Northern State (Oct. 30).
 

2009 (So): Stepped on the field for each of the Beavers’ 11 games in 2009, including 10 starts at safety... Led the team with 75 total tackles... Posted a BSU-best 36 solo tackles... Ranked among the top 20 in the conference averaging nearly seven tackles per game... Recorded a team-leading three interceptions... Was second among his teammates with seven passes defended, while adding a forced fumble and fumble recovery... Earned a spot on the NSIC All-Academic Team.
    Opened the season with five tackles and a career-high three pass break ups versus Minot State (8/27/09)... Posted one of three games with at least 10 stops at Minnesota State netting 10 tackles, which included six solo stops... Also forced a fumble and recovered a loose ball in the game... Registered a career-high 14 tackles with a season-best five solo stops and a sack versus St. Cloud State (10/3/09)... Picked off his first collegiate pass in the game... Netted 11 tackles (four solo) versus Minnesota Duluth (10/24/09)... Intercepted his third pass of the season and returned it a career-best 52 yards at Concordia-St. Paul (11/7/09).

2008 (Fr): Recorded a solo tackle at Minnesota, Crookston (9/18/08) in four appearances as a reserve defensive back.

2007 (RS): Sat out entire season as a redshirt.

Prior to BSU: Was a two-sport letterwinner at Waconia High School... In addition to leading the Wildcats on the football field, he also played baseball as a prep, where he helped guide his team to the Minnesota State Baseball Tournament.

Personal: Born Jan. 5, 1989 in Maryland... Son of Greg and Sandy Scheff... Is a business administration major with minors in finance and management... Has made the Dean’s List each semester he has been enrolled at BSU.
