Charles Alexander joined Beaver Football in 2021 as an assistant coach with primary focus on defensive ends. He spent the last four seasons as the defensive line coach at the University of Jamestown and played collegiately at the University of Arkansas (2006-09).
The 2021 Beaver squad finished 10-3 overall, securing the first 10-win season and NCAA Postseason Tournament victory in program history, thanks in part to one of the top defensive lines in the NSIC. The Beavers ranked 31st nationally and third in the conference in sacks and 40th nationally and first in the NSIC in tackles for a loss. Leading the way was edge rusher Zollie Kaplan who was named an All-NSIC First Team selection.
Alexander served as the defensive line coach and travel coordinator at Jamestown from 2017-21 and was a volunteer assistant coach (defensive line) during the 2016 season. He coached three All-Great Plains Athletic Conference team members on the defensive line.
Alexander played college football at Arkansas, where he was a member of the 2006 SEC West championship team that went to the SEC Championship game and earned a trip to the Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Fla.
Alexander earned a bachelor of arts in both criminal justice and political science from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 2017.
A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Alexander was a three-year letterman at Little Rock Central High School and helped his team win back-to-back state championships. He also earned an All-Metro selection as well as an All-Arkansas team selection.
