Letterwinner in football at Fairmont High School under head coach Mat Mahoney… Completed 148-of-256 passes for 2,314 yards and 25 touchdowns with 621 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior… Selected to All-Big South Conference team… Helped FHS to Minnesota State Playoffs twice and team was state champion runner up… Also lettered in wrestling and basketball.
