Prior to BSU: Started on both sides of the ball for an Alexandria Cardinals team that bowed out in the Section 8 Class AAAA Championship game as the No. 8 team in the state... Was named All-Central Lakes Conference at the conclusion of his senior season... Also participated in basketball and track and field.

Personal: The son of Tim and Karen Hurlbut…Born September 21st, 1991... Hurlbut's major is undecided.
