Prior to BSU: Otto’s height and athleticism made him an asset on the football field, as well as, the basketball court and in track and field at Big Lake High School... The three-sport athlete played both sides of the ball for the Hornets and finished second on the team in receiving yards with 273 on 26 receptions, while finding the end zone five times... On defense his 39 tackles (20 assisted, 19 solo) was good for fifth, while the three interceptions tied him for second on the squad... Scored three touchdowns and added 57 yards Oct. 1 in a 46-13 victory against Elk River... Otto is a two-year letter winner on the basketball team and was a state qualifier in the triple jump... He is the nephew of Bemidji State hockey all-america and former National Hockey League player Joel Otto... His father, Craig Otto, played football at University of Minnesota
