2014 (RS): Sat out season as a redshirt.

Prior to BSU: A successful two-way player at Blackduck High School, Volk was named Associated Press All-State Honorable Mention as a senior… Named North Star Conference Offensive Player of the Year… Named all-conference three times in his career after he compiled 2,500 yards rushing and 42 touchdowns as the team’s running back and totaled nearly 200 tackles on defense… A three-sport athletes for the Drakes, he has earned letters in basketball (5), football (4) and baseball (3)… Is Blackduck High School’s all-time leading scorer with more than 2,000 points… A two-time all-conference performer on the diamond, Volk earned 2012 Minnesota State All-Tournament Team honors after the Drakes finished fourth… A member of the A honor roll throughout his prep career… Earned three Academic Letters.

Personal: Born Nov. 17, 1995… Son of Jeff and Tiffany Volk… Intends to major in elementary education at BSU… Father, Jeff, was his high school football coach… He played football and ran track at Valley City State University where he was an All-American in football and a member of three NDCAC championship teams.
