Prior to BSU: Irvin was a three-sport athlete at Dassel-Cokato High School, earning all-conference awards in football (four letters), wrestling (four letters) and track (three letters)... Totaled 1,231 passing yards, completing 101 of his 149 passing attempts for 13 touchdowns... His senior year 67.8 completion percentage was first among starters in Wright County Conference, guiding the Chargers to a 9-2 overall and 7-1 conference record that finished tied for first... Also rushed for 92 yards and two touchdowns... Mustered a 36-30 overtime victory against then-No. 3 Glencoe-Silver Lake, throwing three touchdowns, two of which came in a 16-point fourth quarter comeback... Was a state entrant in both wrestling and track... Earned three academic letters, while earning a spot on the A and B honor rolls through high school.
