2014-15 / Junior
Saw time in five games... Recorded one assist.

2013-14 / Sophomore
Appeared in 37 games as a sophomore... He posted seven points (1g-6a)... Had 62 blocks and 25 shots on goal... Had a career high two assists vs Minnesota State (Nov. 1, 2013) and a career high in points twice, vs Minnesota States (Nov. 1, 2013) and vs Alaska-Anchorage (Nov. 16, 2013).

2012-13 / Freshman
Played in eight games as a freshman... Tied a career high with three shots on goal, vs Michigan Tech (Nov. 17, 2012) and at Minnesota State (Nov. 30, 2012).

Prior to BSU
James Hansen is a 6-foot-1, 225-pound defenseman that is coming off a 14-point (3g-11a) season with the Waterloo Black Hawks of the United States Hockey League (USHL). Hansen played in each of the Black Hawks’ 60 games in 2011-12, saw time on Waterloo’s power-play and penalty-kill units, and finished second among Waterloo blueliners with a +6 plus/minus rating.  Of his three goals, one came on the power-play and two stuck as game-winners.   

Hansen was an alternate captain for the Black Hawks in 2011-12.   

In two seasons with Waterloo, the defenseman accumulated 22 points (4g-18a) in 105 games.
   
Waterloo claimed third place in the USHL’s Western Conference and a playoff birth in 2012, posting a 33-19-6 record. Hansen and the Black Hawks rolled through the USHL playoffs and into the finals before falling to Green Bay. Hansen had two assists during Waterloo’s 15-game playoff run.
   
A native of Maple Grove, Minn., Hansen joins fellow Maple Grover Sam Windle on the BSU blueline in 2012-13. Hansen attended Osseo Senior High School, where he played prep hockey for former BSU Beaver Mark Phenow (1998-2002).

Born Sept. 9, 1991, James Roger Hansen is the son of Thomas and Gina Hansen... Is undecided on a major field of study at BSU... His father, Thomas, also attended Bemidji State.
