The native of Regina, Saskatchewan is fourth on the team in scoring with 15 points (6g-9a), while his nine assists equals Elias Rosén for third on the team. The rookie is a regular on BSU’s power-play unit and sits fifth on the team with three points (2g-1a) on the man advantage, while his two power-play goals ranks only behind older brother Owen Sillinger (4). He not only leads all BSU rookies in scoring, he is tied for second amongst WCHA newcomers and his seven points (2g-5a) in league play was good for fourth among WCHA newcomers. Sillinger made his collegiate debut in BSU's season-opener versus Minnesota State (11/22/20). He scored his first goal as a Beavers in his second appearance helping BSU to a 6-3 victory over Michigan Tech (12/21/20). He assembled a three-game point streak extending from Dec. 19 to Jan. 3 (1g-2a), which included his first collegiate helper in a 4-1 win at Lake Superior State (1/2/21). Logged the first of two multi-point nights helping BSU to a 4-3 victory over then-No. 3 Minnesota State (2/25/21) with a goal and an assist. Completed the season with 14 blocked shots, a team-high 44 penalty minutes and a +1 plus/minus rating.
Prior to Bemidji State
Finished three seasons of junior hockey with the Penticton Vees of the British Columbia Hockey League... In 48 appearances this season, he has 51 points (16g-35a) to rank third on a Vees team that leads the league in scoring, while he is tied for seventh among the BCHL’s top-scoring players... His 35 assists also rank him second among his teammates and tied for fifth in the league... A member of both of the Vees’ special teams units, Sillinger’s five power-play goals is tied for second on the team, while he has added nine assists on the man advantage and has a short-handed goal.
In three seasons and 138 games in the BCHL, Sillinger has piled up 37 goals and 59 assists for 96 points... In addition, he has nine points (5g-4a) in 17 playoff contests.
Personal
Born September 14, 2000 to Mike and Karla Sillinger... Undecided on major... The younger brother of current BSU forward Owen Sillinger. When the tandem step on the ice together in 2020-21, they will mark the fifth set of brothers to play together for the Beavers in the NCAA Division I-era, which most-recently includes: Gerry, Leo and Myles Fitzgerald (2014-18)... His father, Mike, played in the National Hockey League for 17 seasons.
