Leitner saw time in five games as a freshmen and recorded one goal on five shots. He made his first collegiate appearance against St. Cloud State (10/12/19) and netted the game-tying goal with under six minutes to play in a 2-2 draw. He finished the season with a +3 plus/minus rating.

Prior To BSU
The Bemidji native came to BSU from the USHL, playing one season as captain with the Green Bay Gamblers. Leitner recorded five goals and 19 assists for the Gamblers during 59 games in 2018-19. This included one game-winning goal. Leitner was selected as the USHL Defenseman of the Week Nov. 5, 2018. Prior to his time with Green Bay, Leitner spent two seasons with the Des Moines Buccaneers. In 86 games at Des Moine, Nick marked two goals and ten assists for 12 points. During his time there, he held a +8 rating in 2016-17 and +3 in 2017-18. Leitner saw playoff ice during three games in the 2016-17 season.

Born April 17, 1998 to Bob and Melissa Leitner... Is a marketing communication major with a philosophy minor at BSU... All-State honors during time at Bemidji High School.
