It was an impressive high school career for the 5-foot-7 guard during her time at nearby Mahnomen-Waubun. Syverson reached 1,000 points in her career, was a five-time All-Conference selection, two-time All-Conference MVP, All-Conference Defensive Player of the Year, All-State Honorable Mention and All-Star player. In addition to lettering in basketball, Syverson was a multi-sport athlete earning letters in volleyball and softball. She was strong in the classroom earning A Honor Roll, Triple A Nominee, A Academic Letter and was first in her class.
