High School
Ganyo, a 5-foot-5 point guard, will stay in Minnesota after competing at Mountain Iron-Buhl High School. The multi-sport athlete earned six letters in basketball and four more in volleyball. Ganyo and Mountain Iron-Buhl were a powerhouse program reaching state in five out of her six seasons in basketball. She capped her career winning state as the lone senior on the team. Ganyo made an impact right away on the court starting as a freshman. She led the state in assists in class A, AA, AAA and AAAA. Ganyo scored an impressive 1,956 points during her prep career. In the classroom, Ganyo was named to the Dean's List, National Honor Society, Honor Roll and Academic Letter. She was a Student Council three-time letterer, served on the Leadership Committee, math team and A Honor Roll from 7-12 grade. Ganyo chose Bemidji State because it felt like the right fit, was looking for a school with a nursing program and competitive basketball program, which BSU will provide that opportunity.
