In his first season with the Beavers, Irey appeared in 23 games, fourth-most among BSU freshman and posted four points off one goal and three assists... Scored his first collegiate goal in his fourth career game on Nov. 4 against Ferris State... Recorded two assists at Ferris State on Feb. 11 for his first collegiate multi-point effort... Recorded 25 shots on goal... Totaled one penalty for two minutes, blocked two shots and was a -5 rating on the ice.

Prior to BSU
Played three seasons with the Sioux City Musketeers of the USHL and one with the Bismarck Bobcats of the NAHL... The Bismarck, N.D. native began his junior hockey career for the Bismarck Bobcats of the NAHL in 2018-19 where he posted 18 points (6g-12a) in 51 appearances... For the last three seasons, he was a member of the Sioux City Musketeers of the USHL and captained the team during the 2021-22 season guiding them to a Clark Cup Playoff Championship. In his final junior hockey season, he appeared in 52 games and posted 22 points off nine goals and 13 assists and scored three power-play goals while ranking fourth on the team with 76 penalty minutes...Despite playing in just nine of Sioux City's 19 games, he ranks fifth on the team with five goals, while three of his lamplighters have come as a part of the power play... In 148 games for the Musketeers, Irey has recorded 25 goals and 32 assists for 57 points... Prior to his junior hockey career, Irey played two seasons for Bismarck Century High School...In 52 games he totaled 11 points (49g-62a).
