Merkley played with the Mississauga Junior Chiefs of the Provincial Women’s Hockey League last season after spending the previous two seasons with the Etobicoke Dolphins...She tallied four goals and 11 assists, including two power-play scores in her one season with the Junior Chiefs...With Etobicoke, Merkley notched three goals and 14 assists in two seasons...Was selected to the PWHL All-Star team during her final season with the Dolphins...Has also participated as a member of the Team Ontario Blue U-18 squad where she served as assistant captain...Attended Iona Catholic Secondary School in Mississauga...Was teammates with fellow BSU freshman Hanna Moher on the Jr. Chiefs.
