Kayla Hennum begins her first season as assistant athletic trainer at Bemidji State University in 2022-23. She joined Beavers Athletics in July of 2022 to work with the football, track & field and cross country teams.

Hennum joined Bemidji State after working with Sanford Health in Fargo, N.D. She covered various athletic organizations including American Gold Gymnastics, Detroit Lakes High School and various Fargo/Moorhead community events.

Hennum earned a Master of Athletic Trainer degree in 2020 from North Dakota State University. She worked with NDSU Athletics, Concordia College Athletics, North Fargo High School, and American Gold Gymnastics while attaining her graduate degree from NDSU. Hennum earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2017 from Hamline University. She was a sports medicine assistant intern and a member of the swimming & diving team at Hamline.

Hennum is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association (NATA) and Mid-America Athletic Trainers’ Association (MAATA). She is certified in CPR/AED and is a native of Bemidji, Minn.
