Groen finished her sophomore season with a 9-5 record where she shutout opponents in three sets, taking her Bethany Lutheran College opponent in a two-set shutout... In the No. 1 singles position, the pairing of Groen and Shaelyn Johnson was one to beat. The duo marked a final record of 9-5 with one shutout.

Recorded a 6-5 mark as the Beavers’ No. 1 singles player in 2021... Among the league’s No. 1 singles players, Groen was seventh with six wins and .545 winning percentage... Her six wins also placed her second among her teammates on the singles courts... Combined forced with Shaelyn Johnson to form the Beaver’s top doubles tandem for the bulk of 2021... The pair teamed up to post a 8-3 mark, which placed them eighth among all NSIC doubles teams and second among the league’s No. 1 doubles duos... In their eight wins, Groen and Johnson dominated play winning 49 games to just 19 losses.
Prior to BSU
Groen came to Bemidji State from Bonhoeffer College where she played for TC Bakkum and Geert Koeman… A well-rounded athlete, in addition to picking up tennis at the age of four, she has also played field hockey and soccer competitively… She has competed at multiple regional and national championships and ranked as high as 118 in the Netherlands.
Personal
Born Dec. 12, 2001, Groen is the daughter of Marlies and Bart Groen... Majoring in Sport Management with a minor in Psychology at BSU... She is thought to be the first native of the Netherlands to play tennis for BSU.
