Kristin Farris joins the Bemidji State Athletic Media Relations staff in May of 2024 after previously serving as the Director of Communications and Digital Media for the Sioux Falls Stampede of the United States Hockey League (USHL). She also previously served as a Sports Information Assistant, Director of Football Operations at Bemidji State and served within the Disney College Program. She will serve as the primary media contact for football, men's and women's basketball and other select sports.
Serving as the Director of Communications for the Sioux Falls Stampede, Farris oversaw game day management of media members and her social media team. She performed a deep dive analysis to help uncover changes in user and platform behavior to inform the team's data-driven performance. She developed unique and engaging content-based graphics to help fan engagement while also fulfilling corporate sponsorship components to enhance game presentation and community partnerships.
Previously serving within the Athletic Media Relations department as a Sports Information Assistant and student assistant, she has had direct experience working with the Beavers' Women's Hockey and Women's Tennis programs serving as their primary contacts. In her role as Director of Operations, Farris assisted the Beaver Football coaching staff with day-to-day operations, coordinated team travel and logistics, and assisted in scouting and recruitment, among other duties.
Farris previously served as a student worker within BSU's Athletic Media Relations department and an intern for the football program from November 2018 until May 2021 as an undergrad. She worked directly with Beaver Tennis in addition to assisting with the BSUBeavers.com website and other game day needs. While working with Beaver Football, Farris assisted the coaching staff in recruiting and scouting, organized and helped run alumni and community events, assisted in social media management and content creation, and participated in community outreach events.
Farris graduated from BSU in May 2021 with bachelor's degrees in sport management and mass communication and later earned her Master's of Science degree in Sport Administration with a focus on Operations and Logistics from Arkansas State in 2022.
