Shevin Smith enters his first season in Bemidji in 2025 after spending time at the University of Nebraska, Indianapolis Colts and Baylor University.
Smith brings with him recruiting experience from the University of Nebraska where he served as the Football Recruiting Coordinator from June 2024 until January of 2025. During this time, Smith was responsible for the development, management, organization and control of the defensive back side of the Huskers’ recruitment process. Prior to this time, he served as Nebraska’s Graduate Assistant Defensive Backs Coach from January 2023 until he moved into the recruiting roll.
Shevin Smith also brings with him experience in the National Football League as an intern with the Indianapolis Colts. During his time with the Colts, Smith assisted with defensive back drills, participated in position group meetings, assisted with workouts, logistics, practice and meeting room set up and much more.
Smith is a 2022 graduate of Baylor University where he played cornerback from 2019 to the spring of 2022. During his time at BU, the Bears found wins at the Big 12 level, the Sugar Bowl and marked the most wins in program history during the 2021 season. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with Entrepreneurship at BU and completed his Master’s Degree in Applied Sciences and Leadership Development through Nebraska.
