extend their lead to 44-36 over the Warriors since the series
began in the fall of 1970. This is just the second time the
Beavers have beaten the Warriors in the last six matches.
Last season the Warriors and Beavers split the season series.
With the win the Beavers snap a 11-match losing streak to
NSIC opponents dating back to Oct. 6, 2006 when the Beavers
beat the Upper Iowa Peacocks in five games, 3-2.
The win is the first NSIC win for head coach
Laurie
Bitter. She has led her team to a 4-6 overall record
and a 1-4 record in conference play. The 4-6 mark is the best
start through the first ten matches the Beavers have held
since the 2004 season when the Beavers were 4-6 through the
first ten matches.
Bemidji State (4-6; 1-4 NSIC) will look to put together its
first winning streak of the season tomorrow afternoon when
the Beavers will face the Upper Iowa University Peacocks (3-10;
0-4 NSIC) tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. from the Dorman Gymnasium
in Fayette, Iowa.
