- The Bemidji State University volleyball team posted its 
longest win streak since the 2004 season with a four game 
win over the University of Minnesota, Crookston Golden Eagles 
this evening from the BSU Gymnasium. With the win the Beavers 
right a 13-match home losing skid, earning the win by scores 
of 25-30, 30-27, 30-23, 30-26.
Bemidji State had an even offensive attack as the Beavers 
had three players record double-digit kills. 
Nicole 
Olson (Fr., OH, Baudette, Minn.) recorded 19 kills 
pacing the Beaver attack with a .395 hitting percentage (19k-4e-38at.). 
Brittney Burns (Sr., OH, LeSueur, Minn.) 
was close behind Olson with 17 kills and 
Brie Groskreutz 
(So., OH, Reedsburg, Wis.) notched 10 kills on the evening.
The Beavers hit at a perfect .200 (63k-28e-175at) while the 
Golden Eagles hit a fraction below the Beavers at .167 (59k-31e-168at). 
The Golden Eagles committed 56 errors on the evening while 
the Beavers committed 49 errors on the evening. The seven 
more errors committed by the Golden Eagles seemed to be costly 
as all of the games were decided by five points or less except 
for game three when the Beavers won by a spread of seven points. 
The play at net the net was dead even as both teams recorded 
14 block assists.
Chelsea Geisler (Jr., LB, Grand Rapids, Minn.), Groskruetz 
and 
Alicia Beaman (Sr., S, St. Paul Park, 
Minn.) led the Beavers defensively as they each posted double-digit 
dig marks. Geisler tied a career-high leading the Beavers 
with 23 digs while Groskreutz notched 15 digs and Beaman had 
10 digs respectively. 
Anna Leafblad (So., 
MB, Blaine, Minn.) put in arguably her best performance of 
the season as she had 7 kills and five block assists to lead 
the Beavers at the net.
Alicia Beaman rallied the offense with 39 set assists 
while sophomore Allison Kunde (Burnsville, Minn.) recorded 
14 assists on the evening. 
Bemidji State had two players post double-doubles. Groskreutz 
garnered her fifth double-double of the season and ninth of 
her career (10k-15d) and Beaman notched her fourth double-double 
of the season and 34th of her career (39a-10d) 
Bemidji State proved that winning the first game of the match 
was not always going to determine the winner of the match. 
Tonight the Golden Eagles came out and beat the Beavers 30-25 
in the first game, but the Beavers buckled down the rest of 
the match and was able to win the next three games and beat 
the Golden Eagles, 3-1. It was the Beavers first come from 
behind win of the season and the first since Sept. 8 of last 
season when the Beavers had to come from behind to beat the 
Winona State Warriors.
The win over the Golden Eagles snaps a seven match skid as 
the Beavers had not beaten the Golden Eagles since Oct. 31, 
2003. The win also snaps a 13 match home losing skid. The 
last time the Beavers had won at home before tonight was on 
Oct. 25, 2005 when the Beavers beat St. Cloud State University.
The Golden Eagles were lead by Katie Bonine and Amber Meyer. 
Bonine recorded 15 kills with eight digs and five services 
aces, while Meyer had 14 kills three blocks (0bs-3ba). Defensively 
Jaclyn Slepicka led the Golden Eagles with 21 digs while Heather 
Foreman garnered 13 digs on the evening. Cassie Yates paced 
the Golden Eagles offense with 54 set assists, she also recorded 
10 digs on the night the Golden Eagles lone double-double 
on the night. 
The win lifts BSU in the all-time series over UMC as the Beavers 
extend their lead to 15-8 over the Golden Eagles since the 
series began in the fall of 1994. The Beavers improve their 
record to 7-3 all-time over the Golden Eagles at the BSU Gymnasium.
BSU head coach 
Laurie Bitter has led her 
team to a 6-6 overall record and a 3-4 record in conference 
play. The 6-6 mark is the best start through the first twelve 
matches the Beavers have held since the 2003 season when the 
Beavers were 6-6 through the first twelve matches. The Beavers 
3-4 NSIC mark is the best start the Beavers have had in conference 
play since the 2000 season when the Beavers were also 3-4 
through the first seven matches of the conference.
Bemidji State (6-6; 3-4 NSIC) next be in action on Wednesday, 
Oct. 3 when the Beavers will travel to Minnesota State University 
Moorhead to take on the Dragons. The Dragons beat the Beavers 
early this season, 3-1. The first serve from Alex Nemzek Hall 
is set for 7:00 p.m.
