BEMIDJI, Minn. – The (RV) Bemidji State University Football team earned its seventh consecutive victory Saturday afternoon after defeating Southwest Minnesota State University 34-15 in Marshall, Minn. The Beavers (7-2, 4-0 NSIC North) totaled 466 yards on offense and held the Mustangs (4-5, 1-3 NSIC South) to just 239 yards and 15 points.

The Beavers are now in a five-way tie atop of the NSIC overall standings with a 7-2 record.

Bemidji State totaled 361 yards through the air and 105 on the ground and all four touchdowns it scored in the game were thrown by junior quarterback
Brandon Alt for his fourth four touchdown game of the season.

Alt dropped back to pass 38 times in the game, the third most this season, and completed 25 passes for a total of 359 yards. His main target was senior
Brendan Beaulieu who caught 10 passes, the second most for him this season. He finished with 107 receiving yards while senior
Dhel Duncan-Busby followed with five receptions, 101 yards and caught two touchdowns.

Sophomore
Jake Hill also caught five passes and totaled 74 yards while
Joey Baron caught four passes for 51 yards and two touchdowns.

On the ground, senior
Jalen Frye led the team with 55 yards on 14 attempts while
Jarrett Gronski followed with 32 yards on 12 attempts and junior
Sage Booker had 28 yards on 10 attempts.

The "Gang-Green" defense smothered the Mustangs' offense holding SMSU to just 15 points in the game, all of which were scored in the second half. The Beavers held the Mustangs to just 2-of-12 on third downs and forced eight punts in the game.

Spencer Wehr led the Beavers with nine tackles including six solo while
Colton Herman followed with seven, five assisted.
Cade Barrett and
Ricky Thompson II each recorded sacks in the game while Maalik Know caught an interception and Barrett forced a fumble.

The Beavers return home to host their final home game of the regular season next Saturday and welcome Northern State University to Chet Anderson Stadium at 1:00 p.m. The Wolves are currently chasing the Beavers in the NSIC North Division standings and are 3-1 in divisional play and 6-3 on the season.
