BEMIDJI, Minn. – Down 3-0 at the start of the third period, the Bemidji State University Men's Hockey team brought the score to 3-2 with 10:23 to play but couldn't find the equalizing goal as the Fighting Hawks earned a 4-2 victory Saturday night in their series finale in Grand Forks, N.D.

North Dakota scored 4:57 after the opening puck drop to take and early lead over the Beavers and extended its lead to 3-0 in the second period with two goals scored just 2:33 apart.

Bemidji State responded in the third quarter however, and down a skater due to a penalty, fifth-year transfer
Kaden Pickering scored the Beavers' first goal short handed this season 8:35 into the final period. The Beavers weren't finished and just 1:02 later
Carter Jones who made his first appearance of the season due to injury scored to bring the Beavers within one.

However, the Fighting Hawks subdued the Beavers' attack in the final 10 minutes of the game and after an empty-net goal with 30 seconds to play, North Dakota earned the 4-2 victory Saturday night.

North Dakota also finished ahead on the shot chart totaling 30 shots on goal compared to 20 for the Beavers.

Gavin Enright stopped 26-of-29 shots but falls to 2-2-0 on the season with the loss.

Bemidji State returns to Sanford Center next weekend and will resume Central Collegiate Conference play by hosting University of St. Thomas, Dec. 2-3 to begin a four-game homestand.
